MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

ERICA RANADE

SSP, NCSP, BCBA, LPA, LPP
If you’ve seen her lip-syncing to Hamilton or connecting journal articles and pop songs on social media, you know that Erica Ranade is passionate about behavior analysis and committed to using interdisciplinary frameworks to heal the field. Erica is mixed, queer, and disabled (and many other things), and she cares deeply about equity in the field of Behavior Analysis and providing culturally, developmentally, and trauma-responsive care. Credentialed as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Licensed Psychological Practitioner, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Erica has been working for the past ten years in the fields of education, psychology, and behavior analysis.

Erica is currently pursuing her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at The University of Louisville. Erica and Lauryn collaborate as The Psychobabble BCBAs (@thepsychobabblebcbas) and are releasing their book, Psychology Essentials for Behavior Analysis, this Fall.

KRISTYN PETERSON

PhD, BCBA, LBA, CWP
Maybe you saw the Instagram post of the girl in the beanie talking being a critical friend of ABA, and  how much she loved the field but how much it needed to change.

That was Kristyn. She's obsessed with company culture & systems issues - both things that inform how she shows up as a critical friend of the field, and her full-time work in OBM. She's in her tenth year as a BCBA, and though she hasn't seen it all she's seen enough to know that behavior analysis has the tools it needs to change itself so it can do more.

When she's not buried in spreadsheets, devouring cross-disciplinary research articles, you'll find her working on her tan her in garden or exploring one of the national parks in her home state of Utah.

LAURYN TOBY

PhD, BCBA, HSPP
Lauryn is a clinical psychologist and behavior analyst who is passionate about improving the training of young practitioners in the field of behavioral health. She enjoys challenging the status quo and believes that the field of behavior analysis would benefit from returning to its psychological roots when it comes to enhanced collaboration across disciplines, trauma-informed care, and cultural responsiveness.

When she's not being incredibly awkward on Instagram (@thepsychobabblebcbas), she's watching or reading horror, being a sports mom, and planning out her next book.

COURSE REVIEWS

Thank you for this breakdown of critical friendship. In our relatively young field full of folks who are afraid of change or get defensive in the face of legitimate criticisms of our field, I think it's incredibly important for clinicians to understand that ethically, we should be responsive to this feedback and that you can appreciate the science and our field AND want us to collectively do better.

- R. C.

Really enjoyed this CEU event and left it feeling a renewed sense of purpose to be a critical friend to myself, and to the field as a whole.

- A. D.

Loved it and would highly recommend to others who care deeply about the people they serve, the work they do, and the companies they work for!!
